Mail Merge, Word 2002, can't get all Access queries

When I try to do a Mail Merge in Word 2002 with an Access 2002
database, I can't choose (select for use in mail merge) any Access
query that requires a parameter entry.

When I was using previous versions (e.g. Word 2000, 1997), this worked
fine: I would go into Mail Merge, select a query from the list, it
would ask for the parameter (selection criteria in Access), and up
popped the records. In Word 2002, with it's magical new MM Wizard
interface and "record selection", it does not even include the
parameterized queries in the list of available queries to use.

It looks like that in adding the dumbed-down record selection in 2002
that they stripped out the ability to use and Access query with
parameter.

Please tell me they weren't this foolish and it's an error on my part
or that there is a patch for this.

Thanks,

In Word, select Options from the Tools menu and on the General tab, check
the box against Confirm conversions at open.  Then when you attach the data
source to the mail merge main document, select DDE as the method of
connection in the dialog box that is presented to you.

Hope this helps.

Of course! How could I have missed that :-)
