When I try to create a database for a merge document I
get the following error message:

This operation cannot be completed because of dialog or
database engine failures. Please try again later.

How do I correct this problem so I can create a database
for a merge document?

Hi Maggie,

Which version of Word are we dealing with? Is this a
database created using Word's functionality, or something
you're importing?

Which version of Word, and what type of data source (are you creating it
within the merge process, e.g. using "Type a New List" in the merge wizard,
or what) ?
