Unable to Find Merged Fields In Merged Document

Hello,

I have a document that merges with an Access 2000 database.  This creates
1600 documents, each of 7 pages in length.

Recently it stopped being able to search through the merged documents for
merged data.  ie.  If I search on Address_4 (postcodes) for a postcode, it
searches through all 1600 documents but fails to find the document.

Can anyone help, as searching through all these documents for specific ones
is now quite difficult.

Cheers,
Joe

Hello again,

Found the solution.  Some desktops were merging their data from a local copy
of the database. They are now using the network copy and it's working
correctly. Not sure how this has happened but this has only been a recent
problem.

Cheers,
Joe

Glad you got it sorted out, but your description of the problem indicates
that you are not actually merging the documents.  The documents created by
executing a merge will not have any mergefields in them.

Hope this helps.

Hi Doug,

Evidently the problem isn't fixed but your comments might help us out.   I
understand that we should be using the basic 'Find and Replace' dialogue to
locate text.

Thanks,
Joe
