Merge data lost when printed/previewed

I am merging data from a DbaseIII file that contains simple name, company,
cert number data. The correct data is displayed when toggling the fields and
when the merge has been finalized. I can save the merged document and reload
it and see the data. However the printing issue is still the same - no merged
data, just the template formatting (logos, stock info etc. )

I am obviously missing something?

Are you actually executing the merge to the printer or just trying to print
a preview of the results.  To give more assistance, tell us what version of
Word you are using.

Office 2003. I converted the Access data to an Excel file and had the same
results. I then formated the cards text only and it worked. The original file
had some WordArt and a small graphic on it that evidently the program does
not like. I still don't understand why it would display but not print. What
happened to WYSIWYG?
