What do you mean by "seems to crash"? Be very specific, please.

Which version of Word are we dealing with? What's the data source?

By "700 copies" do you mean 700 records, or that you've set the number of
copies in File/Print to 700?

If you
- rename Normal.dot to NormalOLD.dot
- start up Word
- set up a mail merge to the same data source in a new document (test!),
do you still see the problem?
- if you boot Windows in SAFE mode, then repeat the above?
