I am using the Mail Merge Wizard in Microsoft Word 2002 (10.6829.6830) SP3.

The wizard works OK to place Name and Address etc. in multiple letters using
a table in a word doc as the data source, but except for the first letter the
remainder of the letters have a footer containing the file-name and a page
number (1). I do not want this footer placed on any of my letters. How can I
turn off this “feature”?

With the mail merge main document as the active document, select Page Setup
from the File menu and go to the Layout tab and uncheck the Different First
Page and/or Different Odd and Even boxes.  Then remove any information that
appears in the Footer.

My mail merge main document was a single page document. I had to add
paragraph marks into a second page to get to a page that had data in the
footer even though the Different First Page and the Diffferent Odd and Even
boxes were not checked? I deleted the undesired footer data and then removed
the paragraph marks to return to a one page document.
Thanks
