I'm using Word 2003 connecting to a SQL 2000 db.

This is the first time I've encountered this problem.  When I choose the
correct data source off the SQL 2k db, I get an error of "Word cannot open
+Connect to New Data Source as a data or header source because it contains
no data."

All my merge are connected to "Views" off the SQL and not the actual tables.

This works fine on my computer but not on anyone else's computer.  I checked
the permission on the db and that's fine.  The other machines can connect to
other VIEWS with no problem.

When I Googled this error, the closest thing I got was that if Word
encounters too much data or too complicated data, it will give you this
message.  This query is only returning 231 rows but it is a complicated
query.

Why does it work on my machine and no one elses?  Granted my computer is the
only one on a gigabit connection to the server, but everyone else is on
100mb so that shouldn't be a problem.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
Thanks!
phil

Are you using a .odc or a .udl file to specify the data source? Or something
else?

Are you able to try getting the same data, using the same .odc or .udl, on
one of the machines where it does not work - for example, using Excel, or if
you have a .odc and it is in the user's My Data Source/Data Sources folder,
you may be able to open it directly with IE.
