I have a letter that I will need to insert different data, like names etc.
and I need to put a stop code or insert that will allow me to insert data of
different lengths in the base letter.  I'll need to change the date, inside
address, etc.  I've done this but it's been a while and I can't locate what
the code is or how to do it.  HELP.  Thanks!

As a starting point, you can consider using a { FILLIN } field or { ASK }
field (depending on whether or not you need to re-use the input).

Have a look at Word Help on fields for these field types, see how you go and
post back if stuck.
