Hello,

First time mailmerge user here.  Have managed to go through and create
a mailmerge whrough the wizard in Word 2007. Am trying to create some
labels.  It all seems fine and imports the data from an excel
spreadsheet and looks fine in the document.

When I preview the document it looks fine and has all the records
looking OK on the screen,  However when I try and print preview or
print the document, the document is blank?

Any ideas?

See the article "Mail Merge to Labels with Word XP" on fellow MVP Graham
Mayor's website at

http://www.gmayor.com/mail_merge_labels_with_word_xp.htm

While this is written for XP/2003, there is really no difference in Word
2007 so look for some difference between what you are doing and the
instructions in the article.

Thanks for the response.  Have taken a look and can confirm I am doing
all correctly.

The preview looks correct on screen (with all the correct details),
then when I press the Merge to printer or edit individual fields on
stage 6, it just produces a blank document on the screen or on the
printer?

What if you merge to a new document?

Send me a copy of the mail merge main document if you like and I will take a
look at it.  Send it to dkr[at]mvps.org

Hello,

I have the same problem.

I was previously using Office 2003. The Mail Merge function was working no
problem. Have recently upgraded to 2007. (Clean install on fresh install of
XP SP2)

Now when running the Mail Merge Setup. Everything looks correct. The on
screen display shows perfectly the fields pulled from .xls file.

However, when sent to the printer nothing at all prints. (Yes i saw previous
post that suggested following the steps, that has been done)

I have managed to get it to work properly on one machine that upgraded, not
freshly installed. (Not sure how or why)

Also on a machine that was upgraded from 2000 - I get garbled characters.

Suggestions?
