I am needing to convert mail merge files that were created
in Wordperfect. I am not sure how to do this.
I have tried opening and saving the file as a Word mail
merge main doc. But when I bring it into Word the merge
fields are not moving with the file.

My question is can this be done, and if so how can I get
the merge fields to convert into Word.

Thanks,

I get the feeling I'm not correctly understanding what you
mean with this last sentence. Could you be a bit more
specific, please? You open the WP doc in Word (which
VERSION?)...

- Do you get prompted about conversions?
- does all the formatting come through you'd otherwise
expect?
- you just don't see any merge fields? How would you
recognize them?
- If you press Alt+F9 to display the field codes, do you see
any { } with text? What is the first word in any of these?

Hi Annette,

That's the answer to my first question. But I asked quite a few
more...
