Hello,

I am trying to help a co-worker who is doing a mail merge in 2003 Word.  She
is tryin to select a data source from her desktop to merge into a word
document.  However, when she gets to the selection part where she is to
select the data source at the select table dialog box, it is empty.  I'm
thinking it is because she is merging with a file on her desktop but not
sure.  Does anyone know why the select dialog box is coming up blank?

Thank you in advance for your help

From the Tools menu in Word, select Options and then on the General tab,
check the box against "Confirm conversions at open".  Then when you attach
the datasource to the mail merge main document, try the different options
for the method by which the connection should be made in the dialog box that
appears.  Possibly the DDE option will overcome the problem.
