For some time, I've been merging an Excell
spreadsheet to a word mail merge in Windows 98.  Recently
I transferred the Excell file to a Windos XP system using
2002 Excell.  I've save the spreadsheet in an older
version, transfered it to the Windows 98 system, selected
the exact file, but I get a message saying it can't find
the file.  Any suggestions?

I'm not quite clear on what's going on...

1. You used to use Windows 98. Which version of Word, then?

2. You're now on WinXP and Office XP.

3. You had a main merge document linked to an Excel
worksheet. You've copied both of these files to the WinXP
installation? And into the same folder structure?

4. You've used the Excel file in Excel 2002. And then you
saved to which version format, exactly?

5. And then you copied this file back to the Win98 system?
And can you open it in Excel, there (which version)?

6. And now mail merge can't work with it? Which version of
Word?
