Hi please help!

Is there a way of stopping Word updating the merged data
every time you click forward and previous? It is taking a
long time to scan backwards through 2500-odd records.

Ideally I want the merge to update only once.

any help appreciated very much

Unfortunately, no, that's not how Word's mail merge works.
It's a PITA, and has been for well over a decade.
