This is caused by a well documented bug in the Works add-in. You need to
uninstall the add-in (via Control panel > add & remove programs) and then
you can drag the excess entries off the menu using tools > customize..

I also have this multiple mail merge menu problem, which
I found was a result of the 'Word in Works Add-in
Suite'. However, this problem has now stopped Word from
working altogether and the only cure is to remove the Add-
in. To do this you need wordadd.msi - which I do not
have. So please help! If you have the file:
wordadd.msi, please zip and mail it to me.

Wordadd.msi is the installer for the Works add-in. The easy way to get this
is to reinstall Works, then uninstall the add-in.
