Hello,

I have an excel spreadsheet that I am using as the data
source for a mailmerge from word.  While the relative
locations of the word doc and the xl spreadsheet will
always remain the same, their actual locations may change
(i.e. i may put them both in another folder or
something).  Is there a way that I can set the mail merge
such that it points to the relative location rather than
an absolute location? currently every time i move the two
files to another folder, i have to reset the mail merge.

Thanks,
mika

I don't think there is any way around this except perhaps to use one or two
macros, e.g. to disconnect the document from its data source before you move
it, then reconnect automatically when (for example) you open the mail merge
man document, picking up the mail merge main document's path name and using
it to open the correct data source. You will probably lose any query options
(filter/sort specifications) when you disconnect, but it may be possible to
save those as well before you disconnect
