merge - print labels problem

I am trying to print Avery 8160 (sheet) labels using Mail
Merge in Word 2002 (SP-2).  The datasource is an Excel
spreadsheet with addresses in it.

The merge appears ok on the screen but when printing, I
get merge codes (not the variable data).

I've retested with single labels and all works ok?

Anybody got ideas?

Thanks,

I did find that merging to a new document (rather than to
the printer) fixed this problem.  The printer is an HP All-
in-One 6110.

Tools > options > print > uncheck 'field codes'.
