Works Database to Word Labels

Hi - I have been trying to take a Works database and mail
merge it into Word 2002 to create my Christmas labels.  I
open Works (Version 7.0, installed by Dell) and go to
Word, Mail-merge documents.  Word opens and asks me what
kind of document (mailing labels), and then where to get
the data (open data source).  I select "merge from
another type of file" and then select the Works database
(.wdb) that I want.  Then, instead of going further, Word
simply closes.  This happens even if I skip Works and go
right to Word, Address Book Mail Merge.  I've read the MS
article on how to mail merge, so I understand how it's
supposed to work - but the problem is that Word just
shuts down instead of giving me something to work with.

If I use the Mail Merge Wizard in Word, it starts out
more promising, but then tells me that I can't mail merge
files from Works that contain formulas, to please remove
the formulas and try again.  Unfortunately, the only
formula is in the date, and that is a protected field
that I can't change.  Please help!  I'm not feeling very
Santa-ish right now!  THX!  ---Soon to be Scrooge

Hi C,

Do you have Word as part of Works Suite? Then you should ask
this in a WORKS newsgroup, as the problem may have something
to do with the Works Addin that regulates mail merge in this
case.
