Saving changes in individual merged letters

My mail merge is complet.  I've saved the merged letters.  Now I need to "tweek" a few of the letters.  When I make one change, it changes everything. I've tried the "accept new changes to document" feature, but does not work.

What are you trying to change? Have you merged to a new document?
