Does anyone know if it possible to assign a permanent data
source in word xp?  If not, is it possible to remove the
mail merge feature of XP and add the mail merge feature of
2k?  Thanks

In theory, the data source should be permanent. But I wonder if you are
suffering from a problem where Word "loses" the data source when you close
the document. If so, does you data source have any spaces in its field names
and are you applying filters? Or maybe it is another problem?

You'll find instructions on how to get back the old interface
in the Word 2002 section of my website.
