Hyperlink Merged URL

I am tyring to create a clickable hyperlink with a merged
field which is a URL. I cannot get it to work. It seems
that I can either create a static clickable URL or a
dynamic, merged, non-clickable URL, but not both.

Any ideads how I can do this?

If I understand correctly, merge to a new document then run autoformat on
the new document with the option set to convert internet paths to
hyperlinks.
