The mail merge works fine except the address block of the
adressee is double spaced. How can I change it to single
space. Thanks!

Have you tried using either Format|Paragraph or Format|Style to alter the
layout of the paragraph (avoid "space before" etc.).

Word 2002, I take it? Or 2003?

I can't recall having ever seen the address block come out
double-spaced... If you click in the Address Block, then
look at the "Styles" list on the Formatting toolbar, what
style name do you see?

And if you then click the "Aa" button next to that list to
open the Styles and Formatting task pane, then rightclick
that style name and choose Modify, then Format/Paragraph:
What is the setting for line spacing? And for SpaceBefore?
SpaceAfter?
