Help!

In Wordperfect you are allowed to set up merges by placing
the fields directly into your secondary document. Is there
a way to do this in Word without having to go to tools and
then mail merge. I want to merge a list of contacts from
an old document without typing it over or cutting and
pasting it. HELP!

I'm not quite certain I understand the question. Is it that
you want to insert merge fields in a main merge document
without attaching a data source to the document?

You can do that by pressing Ctrl+F9 to create field brackets
- { } - then typing Mergefield Fieldname between them.

I get the feeling that's not what you mean, however. It
sounds more like you have a set of addresses in a document
and want to use that as a data source? You may find some
information at this site that will help you set up the
document
