If you set the Registry key, then the SQL security check is disabled. It
assumes the user answers "Yes". When a mail merge document is opened, the
connection to the data source is retained.
If you automate mail merge with DisplayAlerts set to False, and with the
security check enabled, the document will open without a prompt. But the
assumption will be that the user has answered "No" and the data source will
have been disconnected.

Well, the message suggests you can abort the opening. I think this is very
misleading.

No kidding? I should have tested this with more care...

I agree, and I so stated during beta. But this feature was added so late that
no changes (except for anything earth shattering) could be made. So there we
have it... <sigh>
