Some basic info on mail merge changes between Word 2000 and 2002 please.
I have done a bit of mail merge from Access but not a lot.
Client has an Access application that was originally built in Access 97,
converted to Access 2000 and now to Access 2002.
The application does a lot of automation and merging with Word and works ok
with Word 2000.
However, now that client has Word 2002, whenever a merge is attempted,
client is prompted with a dialog to select the datasource.
Since it works fine with Word 2000, I was hoping someone might know of
changes regarding merge in Word 2002 to give me a starting point before I
roll up my sleeves.
TIA

For general info on 2000/2002 changes, see Cindy Meister's pages at
http://homepage.swissonline.ch/cindymeister/MM2002/MM2002.htm
However, your client may be suffering from a problem where Word loses its
connection if the user has applied a sort/filter and/or some of the field
names have spaces in them. Since that's the only suggestion I can make off
the top of my head it's probably worth discovering if that is the situation
(if it's down to the "spaces in field names" problem, adding queries that
use field name aliases to remove the spaces may help).

Thanks to you both.
I needed to add the parameter SubType:=wdMergeSubTypeWord2000 to thye
opendatasource call and it works as before.
