HI there,
to get back on my field problem...I've put cross-
references in my document for the literature list.
The strange thing is that when I change the order of the
bookmarks, some of the bookmarks are correctly updated and
some of them not! I used the same way of inserting cross-
references, so I have no idea what the difference is.

field code:
cross-reference 1 { REF_Ref52337413 \n \h }
cross-reference 2 { REF_Ref5281216 \n \h }

Linked to

[1] aaa aaaa
[2] bbb bbbb

When I change the order to
[1] zzz zzzz
[2] aaa aaaa
[3] bbb bbbb

Then cross-reference 1 will still say [1]
but cross-reference 2 will change into [3] and that is
what I want

All help is greatly appreciated

Hi Pats,

The most logical explanation is that the bookmark [1] is not
moving - that you positioned the cursor in the wrong place
before typing the new entry. If you go to Insert/Bookmarks
and activate "Hidden bookmarks" (you may need to click it a
couple of times until the _Ref stuff appears in the list),
select the bookmark in question and click "Go to" does it
select what's being reflected in the cross-reference?
