Is possible merge Word document with an ADO recordset
Peter Jamieson - 14 Jan 2004 10:07 GMT
Not a disconnected recordset. Word can only read from a file, the results of
a text file converter, an ODBC data source or (Word 2002 and later) an OLEDB
data source).  So in theory if you have, or could write, a converter, ODBC
driver or (suitable) OLEDB provider that knows how to get the data from your
ADO recordset, you could do it. I say "Suitable" OLEDB provider because not
all of them will work with Word. That said, in most cases Word requires that
you specify  /a/ disk file even when it is connecting to a remote
client/server - e.g. with an OLEDB connection you typically need a .odc
file, etc. So if you are trying to avoid having to have a local file,
connecting to a disconnected recordset probbaly will not help anyway.
