When trying to mail merge using the query option I keep
getting this message "word could not parse your query
option into a valid SQL string". It is only ever on the
one field, in which some entries are just letters,
e.g. "ISTD Inter", and other entries are letters and
numbers, e.g. "Gr 2". This has really got me stumped and I
could really do with some help!

Which version of Word is this? What's the data source?

When this happens to me, the most usual cause is that the
field name isn't being processed correctly. Like, it might
contain a space or some other character Word isn't able to
handle. Does the field name in the Query Options list look
exactly like what's presented in the list of fields? And
how do these compare to the actual field name in the data
source?
