I have Win XP Pro and Office 2003.
When I use the mail merge wizard it locks when I use an
Access DB with attached tables.
Any Ideas?

Do things work any better if you use another connection
method (how to do that is in the Word 2002 section of my
website's Mail merge FAQ)?

In what data source are these linked tables?

Hi Cindy
I have not had a chance to test another connection
method. Sorry.
The linked tables are in another Access database.
Developers normally 'split' an Access DB into data and
objects databases to facilitate development. This is
vanilla technique and nothing special. So I am very
surprised that Word falls over.
BTW is it possible to bypass the mail merge wizard?

I realize that, but I'm not aware that things lockup,
generally, in this case. that's why I wanted you to test a
few things.

As long as we're still in the question-and-answer phase: is
there any password security applied to either of these
databases?

Use the toolbar. Or the older command interfaces (see the
Word 2002 section of my site's mail merge FAQ)
