Greetings!

My document (Word 2002) contains a merge field which is formatted (from within Access 2002) as "h:mm" and it has retained its format in Word.  I need to include an IF..THEN..ELSE statement which evaluates if the mergefield value is less than "5:45" and then returns the appropriate text.

I tried transforming 5hrs and 45min. to it's stored value of .23958833333, but that did not work.  If the merge field is not formatted and merges as the numerical equivilent, the IF statment works just fine.  However, I NEED to have the merge field formatted.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Use Access to do the data manipulation.  It's far better at it than Word.
