can word be set up to do something similar to a report with linked sub
report?

I have two access tables  people and houses. the people table has a house
id. Both table are linked in data entry forms!
I wish I mail merge a letter to each house and list the names of people that
live there. In a report you would do this with a linked subreport!
can you do something similar with word?

Hi Andrew,

Why not do it all in Access.  I have a similar application where I have a
building with a security access card system.  Using an Access Report with
the first part of a letter including the address details of the tenant in a
group header, the numbers of the access cards that give access to their
tenancy in the details section of the report and the closing of the letter
in a group header, I create letters to each tenant advising them of the
cards that have access to their tenancy.

Hi Andrew,

That's right, not very far in this case.

See the "Multiple items per condition" item under the "Special merges"
section of fellow MVP CIndy Meister's website at
