I open an session word

i open a document (word.doc) and i make a merge with (merge.txt) with no
problem.

i save my document.
i close my document.

if i try to kill my merge file (merge.txt) to construct another from vb6  i
have an error (permission denied error 70)

my window word is empty.

if i close the window word i can kill my merge file.
So it seem that word doesn't free somme file ......

Any idea ?

Not an expert, and don't use vb6, but;
When you close the doc you are closing out the merged file only.
The Main document is still open and, because it has the link to the
merge data file, you'll get a "Permission Denied" error if you try and
kill the data file (the file is in use as far as the system is
concerned)
