I am having a problem when doing a mail merge.  I have a
computer that has Windows 2000 Professional and Word 2000
and at one time it had a UPS program on it.  While doing
a mail merge I do Get Data - Open Data Source - choose
the csv file on the desktop and then a screen comes up
stating Confirm Data Source Screen.  Two items show up in
this screen as follows: UPS Online Worldship CSV Export
via ODBC and UPS Default Import Invalid via ODBC. Neither
of these work and if I chose the select all at the bottom
of the Confirm Data Source Screen the only two options
that recognize a csv file are the above two items.  Have
any idea of how to make this work right.

Hi Ml,

I'd say you need to do a custom installation of Office 2000
and make sure you've installed all the data stuff. Or an
uninstall/reinstall.

Office should install ODBC drivers and default DSNs for
Office, and particularly Word mail merge. Apparently, these
are missing.

The other route would be to use Word's internal text
converter, which if you're not seeing in the list has
apparently also not been installed. That would be under the
converters category (along with Word 2.0, RTF, etc.)
