I have no problem with mail merges when in my office - on
the network - but off-site, Windows locks up every time I
try to create a mail merge with an Excel file as the data
source. It gets as far as opening Excel, but only to a
blank new workbook.
Any ideas?

Is Excel Tools|Options|General|"Ignore other applications" checked ?
