I'm having a problem with existing documents that have
been working up until now, with the date coming thru as
american date format, the format that has been coming
thru before is d mm yyy, I have added in the switches
works kinda... My client has just brought a new pc,
running windows xp and office xp, her previous pc was
running exactly the same, with the difference of Office
XP SP2.

Cindy, you've answered me before in a previous question
posted by someone else, and I thought I'd include this
extra information.  I've done what's recommended on your
website, but the client is still adament that it's not
even working with those changes done.

Many thanxs for any help :)

Yes, the question does sound familiar, and I was about to
go look whether I hadn't answered it before :-)

For immediate results, I'd certainly recommend using a
different connection method.

As to the switches:

You mean to say the client currently does NOT have SP2
installed? That could explain the problem if the data is
not stored and being displayed in US date formats. There
was a bug in the original release of Word 2002 that played
havoc with day and month information on non-US systems. The
machine either needs to be updated, or one has to
consistently use a DDE or ODBC connection method.
