Hi:
I need to write vb program that opens word doc/dot and does mail merge of
selected records in recordset. Please let me know any place to look for
hints.

1. which version of Word?

2. What data source?

3. The SQL you envision to select the records: could it be longer than 512
characters?

If you go to microsoft.com and search the Knowledge Base you should turn up
some HOWTO articles written for VB on mail merging with Word. Note that a
lot of the code is lousy Word-code. But it should at least get you started.
