i have a bunch of merge forms that are shared by 3 different offices, each office has their own header that shows their company address and phone number for that office.  we want to use only 1 copy of the form instead of 3 of the same form but with different headers

i would like to know if when i create a user account for the network, and in that user information tab i put in the address of the office where that user resides, can i create a header with merge fields that will call up the address, phone, and fax specified in AD and place them on the header.  it would have to be the address information of the person logged onto that machine creating the forms

i hope i made myself clear.  excuse me if i confuse some of you
please let me know if there is a wa

thank you so much in advance

One possibility, if you are not using it for another purpose is to use the
Word userinitials field (tools > options > user information). You can insert
up to 8 digits here, to identify the office. Then create three autotexts
containing the required texts, saved in the document template named to match
the 'initials'. You can then insert the required address in the header by
putting an autotext field in the header eg

{Autotext {Userinitials}}

As long as the user has the initials field code to match his/her location,
the correct information will be displayed in the header.

Thus if you have offices in London, Madrid and Paris you can enter London,
Madrid or Paris in the initials field for each user and have Autotexts
called London, Madrid, and Paris containing those office addresses.
