Hi, OK, first I would like to extend thanks to Charles for
the help with my previous dilemna.  Now I am running into
another issue.  I want to do "custom envelopes" where they
will appear like business envelopes you would have done at
a local print shop.  The company logo image and return
address go in the top-left corner of a standard #10
envelope, and the mail merge goes in the middle.
In Word I created a document, chose the #10 envelope
option as the paper size and changed the layout to
landscape.
I inserted the image, return address etc., and then chose
Mail Merge from the Tools menu.  I went through all the
steps choosing to work with the active document, choosing
envelope, defining the data source, etc., and when I do
the merge Word gives me no choice but to place the results
of the merge into a NEW document!
I want the results of the merge to go into my "custom
envelope."  What am I missing here???
Thanks,
Barry

In this situation, do not choose Envelope as the type of mailmerge that you
want to perform, use formletters instead.

Hi Doug,
Thanks for your reply.
I tried what you suggested and what is happening now is I
am not getting the bar code below the mailing address.
I went to Insert>Field and chose Barcode.  Where I
inserted the barcode field it reads as follows:
"{BARCODE \u "PostalCode" \* MERGEFORMAT}" (without the
double quotes preceding the opening and closing brackets).
When I do the mail merge the text where the barcode is
supposed to be states "Zip code not valid!"
Printing a single test envelope produces the results I
mentioned above and also, for the return address, all that
is being printed is the company logo image!  None of the
text with the actual return address prints out.
What am I doing wrong???
Thanks,
Barry

To get the barcode to display, you must have English (United States)
selected under the "Select an item to match its preferences, or click
Customize to choose your own formats:" pulldown under the "Standards and
formats" section of the "Regional Options" tab that is accessed by double
clicking on the Regional and Language Options item in the Windows Control
Panel.

Send me a copy of the mailmerge main "document" and I will have a look into
the other problem.

Hello Doug,
Thanks for your help with this.
I already have English configured in Regional Options.

Barry
