Problems connecting to data source (Since Office XP SP3)

Dear All,
Really hope that someone can point me in the right direction.  Since
applying SP3 for Office XP, I have had trouble when opening mail merge
documents.  These are connected to Excel spreadsheets and used to work fine.

If I now open up a mail merge doc, It can not find the data source (I get
the message about running the SQL command, click yes then says it can't find
it).  Even when I have pointed to the data source and saved the file, the
next time I open it I have the same problem again.

Hope someone can help.

Thanks,
Ricky

I have just realised that the problem only occurs when recipients have been
filtered using the drop down boxes in select recipients.

The "opening this document will run the following SQL command" dialog box
has the correct information in it for the filter, but it does not then seem
to be able to find the data source.

Thanks,
Ricky

I have Works Suite 2004 and I am unable to get MS Word to mailmerge with a MS Works database. It tells me that it is unable to open the data and it is not Microsoft. Microsofts own program can't recognize a MS created file. This new version of works does not blend with word. There has to be something wrong here

The ability to merge between these two products was provided by the Works
add-in for Word which was so bug laden that it is usually recommended that
it be uninstalled. Word does not have a filter for the Works database format
in its native format, but you should be able to export the data to a format
that Word can use.

Word is not part of the Works package, it is a value-added separate
component. Works has its own word processor.

I am having the same problem with Word merging with Access
(Office Professional 2003) Error: "Word was unable to
open the Data Source".
