You cannot log on to Microsoft Exchange because the chances are that you
don't have this expensive package - unless you are a corporate user. The
message is indicative of the fact that you are using Outlook Express as an
e-mail application. Word requires the use of a MAPI compliant e-mail
application in order to use its address book. That essentially means Outlook
(or Exchange). OE is not a MAPI compliant application.

The previous correspondence has lasped from my view of the server and you
have not repeated any of the previous correspondence so I don't know what
went before. Are you saying that you cannot use the Outlook address book
from Word or that the command to call it is missing from the toolbar/menu?

If the former, you need to ensure that Outlook is the default e-mail
application. If the latter, add it using tools > customize > commands >
insert > address book.
