Merge to 1 worksheet

When I select the Excel file to be used as my data source, I don't get the
option to select only one worksheet within the workbook.  My excel file has
6 tabs, but I only want to use one in my Word mail merge.  When I select
data source, it only gives me the option of "Entire Worksheet" or "Filter".
How do I select only 1 worksheet (tab) to be used in my merge?  This is both
word/excel 2000.

I tried to get around this by copying the worksheet to a new excel file (so
that it would be the only worksheet) in the book, but then I get a
persistent "Word could not re-establish a DDE connection with Excel".
What's that about?

Hi Robert,

From the Tools menu, selection Options and then go to the General tab and
check the "Confirm conversions at open" item.

Then when you select the datasource, you will be given an option of the
method that Word will use to connect to that source.  I can never remember
which one is which, but one of them will present a dialog containing a list
of the sheets in the workbook from which you can select the one that you
want to use.
