I am trying to print form letters using a second Word
document as the data source.  Everything seems to work
fine, except the merge fields in the printed documents
appear shaded, just as they are on screen.  There does not
appear to be any format control to address this.  I am
using Word 2002 on Windows XP.

I tried printing the same document at home on a computer
running Word 2000 on Windows 2000 and there is no
problem.  I would like to avoid printing several hundred
pages of work documents at home.

What's going on?

I know of no setting in any version of Word that causes the field shading
(assuming that is what it is) to print.
