I am having a problem printing out only a selected range of items in m
mail merge document.  I successfully mail merged an address mailin
list from Excel and have been attempting to print out envelopes.

I can print the "current page" fine, but a selective range o
recipients (? pages: xxxx ?) is not working.  There is a brief flash o
a pop-up spool window after I hit "ok" in the print window.  The
nothing happens.  I'm not even getting a printer icon in my taskbar.

I do not have this problem when I do a ?pages:? range of printin
in a normal word document file.

I?d be thankful for any advice anyone could offer

In the document created by a mailmerge, a separate Section is created for
the data from each record.  Therefore, to print part of the document, you
need to specify the Sections that you want to print, not the Pages.  The
Sections are specified by prefixing the number with an 's'.  For example

s3 - s6, s8, s11, s15 - s20

would print out the envelopes for records 3 - 6, 8, 11 and 15 - 20

>That is a problem with Word that I have never been able
to resolve.  In WordPerfect the merged document is
printed on "pages" while in Word, it is all page 1 (2
etc.)  I would love to know the answer too because when
you are trying to print a large range it is very
cumbersome.

See the response that was posted to brianosaur about 3 days ago

And ask irubin to fix up his crappy website so that it threads replies
properly rather than displaying them as separate messages.

For your own part, you would be far better to access the microsoft
newsgroups directly on the msnews.microsoft.com news server using a news
reader such as Outlook Express, or if you cannot do that, access the
newsgroups at http://communities.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.asp
