Is it customary to have many many "mail merge" entries
under mail merge?  For example, I would feel that if I
wanted to access mail merge, I would only need to "hit"
one mail entry under tools.  Instead, I have at least 20
mail merge entries listed.  Is this normal?  I have a 98
operating system with microsoft word 2000.  Thank you.

This is probably caused by the MS Works Add-In. You probably want to
uninstall this or move it out of your Word Startup folder (I don't remember
whether Works 2000 used a COM add-in or a .dot one.)

Otherwise Graham Mayor has a page on his site about dealing with this.

See the MVP FAQ: <URL: http://www.mvps.org/word/> which is awesome!
