Hi, I am using Word 2002 at work and trying to use nested
field codes in a merge document, specifically the 'If'
field code and the 'Includepicture' field code. within
each of these I am trying to insert the 'mergefield' field
code to provide the condition on which the output is
based. I can enter the codes ok but when I save the
document and preview the merge (or even simple open the
document again to view the codes, the NESTED code has
vanished leaving the primary code without a condition. It
dosen't seem to matter if I enter the codes manually or if
I enter them in via the field code wizard bit.
Arghhhhhhhh!
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Do they re-appear if you press ALT+F9?
As you have not detailed the field construction, it is difficult to advise
whether there is a problem or whether this is the normal behaviour.

Maybe the fields need to be updated? Did you use Ctrl+F9 to insert the
field delimiters?
See the "Graphics from database" item under the "Special merges" section of
