Hello

I am using an excel spreadsheet as a source for a word
mail merge. One of the columns is a date of birth column
and is set up as:

01/06/01 as an English setting dd/mm/yy

However when it is merged into the word document it
switches round to mm/dd/yy. The settings of the computer
via the control panel are correct (English in this case)
and I was wondering if there is a setting in word that I
have overlooked.

I would be grateful for any help with this.

many thanks
Kay

Hi Kay,

You can correct this by adding a date switch to the mailmerge field (eg: \@
dd/MM/yyyy). To do this, select the field and press Shift-F9. You should see
something like:
{MAILMERGE BirthDate}
Add the picture switch so that it becomes:
{MAILMERGE BirthDate \@ dd/MM/yyyy}
then press F9 to update. Re-run your mailmerge and it should work OK.

Cheers
