I have a problem when doing a mail merge in Word 2003
from Outlook 2003 contacts.
During Step 3 of 6 in word2003 I have to choose the data
source etc...
Once i choose the contacts folder to use and view the
contacts, there is no way to see which categories the
contacts belong to??
How do we see which contacts belong to what
categories ??? (This info is only visible in Outlook
2003, but when doing the merge from Word you cannot
see/sort by Categories).
Help! :)
Thanks,
Russ

You have to initiate the merge from Outlook (select a contacts folder,
create whatever view you need to display the categories you want, click
Outlook Tools|Mail Merge). This approach uses a completely different method
to get the data to Word (in fact it creates an intermediate text file with a
.doc extension), is the only one that gives you access to almost all the
fields available within your contacts, and the only one that lets you use
the facilities in Outlook to select the contacts you want.
