Hi,
Is it possible for me to create a new field (other than the
ones provided) and insert is in word document?
For eg. I want to replace the REF field by say, MYREF and
allow it to import all text(as before) + all custom tags
with the bookmark. So is it possible for me to create MYREF
field or do I have to manage with REF itself??

Thanks in advance.

Short answer: No. You can't create custom fields. Long answer, you can
create combinations of fields and nested fields that may have the same
function as your custom field. Those can be saved as AutoText entries or
created using vba.
