Duplicate files returned when performing merge with a parameter query

When I perform a mail merge with a parameter query using
Word and Access 2002, I get the first line duplicated.  I
have looked at Knowledge Base Article 286847 and this is
not what I am getting.  The query extracts data from a
table in access.  The table has only one entry for the
first line.

Hi Steve,

I guess the first question we need to ask is: are you
explicitly using a DDE connection for this merge?

The next would be: when you view the query result directly
in Access, do you see the correct result?

Could you go into the SQL view of the query and copy/paste
the SQL statement into your answer, please?

Hi Cindy,
I do see the correct answer when I view the query in
Access.  I did figure out that if I unselect the "view
table names" in query options it stops the duplication.  I
am using a DDE connection explicitly.  This work around
suits my needs.  Do you still want me to paste the SQL
view?  Hopefully this may help someone else.  Thanks a
millon for helping!

Actually, yes, please. I can't remember ever hearing about
this happening, before. I just tested on Word 2003, didn't
see the problem, so then tried Word 2002 and still didn't
have the problem. So maybe the SQL (of the original, problem
query - IF it's still happening when you change back) might
help track down what's going on.

Also, could you please check Help/About in either application
and note down the exact build, version and SP numbers?
