Mail Merge Problem

I have created a set of labels in Word XP, from an Excel XP data file.

Each label has four lines and each line has four fields, so there are 16
different fields each label. On each line each field is separated by a tab
for spacing purposes.

The labels look fine in the Word file, but the first field on each line has
a faint dotted line under it.

My problem is when I merge to a document or to the printer the first field
on every line does not print.  If I preview I do not see the first field on
each line.

Someone suggest that the faint underlining is some form of smart tag, but I
have turned off this option and this seems to have no effect on my file.  I
need to print these labels will all the field on them, what can I do?

Urgent help required.

Hi Paul,

My first inclination was to say "Smart Tag", but then...

How about
   - select the field
   - Format/Font
   - make sure "Hidden" is unchecked (click until it is)
