Hi all,

When performing a mailmerge a datasource file is opened.  Is there a
way to close that file in VB?  Or does it stay open while the
template, where the mergefields are placed, is activated?

Any help is appreciated

Thanx in advance,

Wouter

Which version of Word are we discussing? And what kind of datasource
file (what file format)? Are you experiencing a particular problem
(and if yes, what is it)?

Generally, yes: When a Word main merge document linked to a data
source is opened, the link to the data source is active. This doesn't
necessarily mean a file is opened in memory - that depends on the data
source and the connection method.
